Nature Photography and Creative Expression
Photography provides an opportunity to observe and appreciate the natural world from a different perspective. Whether capturing native wildflowers, garden landscapes, wildlife, or seasonal changes, photographers can reveal details that might otherwise go unnoticed.
The photography entries at the Mountain Lakes exhibition reflected this connection between visual creativity and appreciation for nature. Floral subjects, seasonal imagery, and colorful botanical compositions were among the works displayed.
As a longtime New Jersey nature photographer, Dave welcomed the opportunity to volunteer his experience while supporting the Garden Club’s efforts to encourage artistic participation.
More Than a Flower Show
Beyond the photography displays, the exhibition featured an assortment of floral designs, horticultural entries, and award-winning arrangements.
Educational exhibits also demonstrated how plants can contribute to healthier landscapes. Displays highlighting cattails, water iris, and natural shoreline vegetation illustrated approaches to protecting waterfront environments and managing geese around local lakes.
These exhibits reflected an important aspect of the Garden Club of Mountain Lakes: combining artistic expression with practical horticultural knowledge and environmental education.
